Two Types of Kings
This is what masculine energy looks like when fully exalted
The German Shepherd type man.
The Golden Retriever type man.
German Shepherds are known for: fierce devotion and loyalty to their person, being a beast to the world but a softie at home, and being the ultimate protector.
Golden Retrievers are known for: warmth, affection, and being the ultimate giver and husband-material man.
In order to reach these forms, they go through a journey of confronting the natural instinct to serve themselves alone, finding fulfillment, identity, and meaning in becoming generous—serving the “we,” not the “me.”
Before that, Golden Retrievers can look like Peter Pan types… men who never grow up. Naive. Flighty. Impulsive. Driven by feeling good now rather than lasting legacy.
German Shepherds can look narcissistic with a cut-throat drive, a bluntness that can harm, and a single focus on identity and mission, lacking empathy.
If you’ve tended to attract the Peter Pan types, chances are you still believe that by rescuing a parent or caregiver, you will finally find the peace and stability you need for your life to begin.
If you’ve tended to attract the narcissistic types, chances are the love addict in you seeks a man to fill a hole left by a parent—a lack of love that’s made her hungry and insatiable.
... Neither are loving because both seek to obtain, consume or objectify the man in service of healing the past.
To attract the king and overcome this cycle, we as women must die to ourselves in a different way—abandon the endless quest for justice, the drive of that little girl inside to find closure, and grieve what was lost or never had to begin with.
Until then, we don’t have a whole heart to offer a man.
A King will have a whole heart to offer, and will require the same in return from his woman.
